What Info We Collect and Why We Do It
You know. We know this. Our lawyers don’t and they told us to write this.
In order to offer our awesome services to you, we need to know WTF you are. The W there stands for Who and Where (we don’t wanna know What). That’s why we ask for your name (so we know what to call you) and email (so we know how to contact you). In order to accept payment from you, we also need to know your address. We also use your address to determine things like VAT and other reporting/tax stuff. We may also ask for your date of birth if we need to establish that you are over the age of 18.
We get this data by asking you for it. When you fill in a form on our website, we collect that.
We also collect IP address, browser type, and similar telemetry data for statistical, fraud prevention, and payment processing purposes. This collection is automatic. That’s why we don’t have a form where you have to type in your IP address, and user agent…
If you decide to not just waste precious kilobytes of our bandwidth by browsing the website without buying and you place an order, we may ask for payment details. For card payments, we use a third-party that’s nice and secured (encrypted and access-controlled up the wazoo). For other payments, it depends on the payment processor but we generally collect and process as little as possible. We feel like all that stuff is a giant pile of none of our business.
Who We Share Your Data With
In general, we don’t. They’ll have to pry your data from our cold dead hands.
The only exception to this is as/when legally required or as necessary to accept payments.
We don’t run any external analytics. We don’t pass your data over to anyone outside of the company. You’ve seen our prices, right? We’re not the cheapest on the market. Part of that is because we can’t monetise you in any way other than selling you cool, awesome, and useful services.
Keeping Your Data Safe
Data is stored securely: as little of it as possible for as short a time as possible.
Your Rights
If you want access, correct, delete, restrict, or export your data, just drop us an email.
If you want us to stop collecting your data, stop using our services.
If you want us to stop processing your data, just drop us an email.
Managing Your Consent
You can revoke consent at anytime. But, obviously, if we can’t leave cookies or receive basic information about you, we can’t actually provide you with our services.
